These are lost fishing gear.
Ghost gear continues to catch, harm, and kill animals for years after it is lost. This is a serious environmental problem along the entire Norwegian coast.
In 2025, divers across Norway retrieved more than 7,000 ghost gear. This shows how big the problem is – but also how much we can achieve when we stand together.
At the same time, we need solutions that work before gear is lost. TrapSaver™ is designed to reduce the number of ghost traps through prevention, by making it easier to recover traps before they are left on the seabed.
In 2026, the fight against marine litter continues. Every cleanup counts. Every trap that is not lost means less suffering for life in the sea.
Together we create a cleaner and safer ocean.
